Congratulations to Karen Bowes on her appointment as President Elect for 2009/10 and President for 2010/11 of ASA North West Region. 

September 2009

Congratulations to Joe Elwood (Ulverston), Fraser Minnican (Barrow), Anna Newlands (Copeland) and Lucy McKenzie (Cockermouth) who have been selected by ESSA (the English Schools Swimming Association) to swim at the Inter-Divisional Swimming Championships at Crystal Palace on October 23/24.

Joe Elwood has been selected as part of the England National Youth Talent Programme 2009/2010 and Fraser Minnican has been selected for the National Age Group Talent camps.

Paul Elwood and Keith Minnican have been chosen to coach at the National Age Group Talent camps throughout the year - this will involve the country's best 12 and 13 year old swimmers.

Joe Elwood has been selected by ASA North West to participate in the North West Beacon Programme at Manchester Aquatics Centre. (The Beacon Programme is open to the top 24 swimmers aged 15 to 19 in the region.) Joe is the only swimmer from Cumbria on the programme which is headed by Mark Rose Regional Talent and Development Coach.

October 2009

Cumbria finished 14th out of 18 in Division 2 of the British Gas ASA National County Team Championships held at Sheffield on Sunday October 19. Follow this link for the full results.
